Con MP Robert Jenrick, with his racist comments about 'not seeing another white face' in a part of Birmingham, appears to be playing the 'Enoch Powell' card in order to boost his credentials with the hard right of the Con party & position himself as the next Tory leader.

Nigel Farage, known as the Fagash Fuhrer in the UK, held a policy announcement session on Aug 26 and it was more like a rally. It is very clear that he is determined to force his mini-me Trumpian version of neo-fascism into the mainstream of British politics. Dangerous and highly irresponsible.

Ugly times. Certain rightwing media commentators & politicians in the UK at the moment seem to relish the idea of civil unrest & are seeking to stir it up. They clearly want a re-run of the disorder & rioting that took place in the summer of 2024. Such views are irresponsible & very dangerous, IMO.

MAGA sycophant Steve Bannon, recently interviewed in the Financial Times, thinks Trump will seek a third term as president. He once fell out with Trump, but they have become close again. Bannon clearly approves of Trump's authoritarian tendencies, which become more evident with each passing day.

I never thought I would see this, and it is heart-breaking to witness, but the Land of the Free is becoming the Land of the Unfree. Day by day, hour by hour, the USA under Trump is being turned into an illiberal democracy, where authoritarianism becomes the norm.

The anti-Farage message should have been 'Vote Farage, Get Trump', endlessly repeated. As Fagash sees himself as a Trumpian, lots of those who voted Reform are about to discover what this really means at local level: job insecurity, attempts to undermine employment rights, cuts to services, etc.

Trump's move against Harvard Uni is the opening salvo in a general war against the University & College sectors that MAGArites, especially Vance, have been planning for quite some time. Authoritarian-minded politicians are always keen to impose controls on education & close down free thinking.

The thing we need to understand is that Putin does not want to end the war in Ukraine. He wants to fight on until he achieves 'victory', no matter what the cost to human life. He's mobilising yet more Russians for the 'meat-grinder'. His whole modus operandi is straight out of the fascist playbook.

Serious question: I wonder if the orange-faced manbaby is really aware of how much many people around the globe have started to loathe, even hate, him? In his private moments, does he even vaguely think about how historians will write about him one day. One thing is certain: they will not be kind.

Trump is so naive. Putin does not want to end the war in Ukraine, or have any meaningful ceasefire. He just wants to plough on & on until he thinks he's won. Why on earth the orange-faced manbaby in the White House cannot grasp this is deeply frustrating & depressing to watch.

The key to understanding Trump is that he is prone to petulant, childish behaviour if someones defies him or does not agree with him. President Zelensky (quite rightly) refused to sign a Mafia-style contract to allow massive U.S. extraction of Ukraine's mineral resources. Trump is now in a big sulk.
