Some thoughts on the news that 48% of those arrested over Belfast race riots had been reported to police for domestic violence. With McGr*g*r losing his appeal & definitively found to be a rapist in a court of law it is important we call out the hypocrisy at the heart of the far right movement.

We all do it. We store away odd nails, screws and tools and cables in the hope that someday it’ll just be what we need. Today was the day, I used that Allen key that I knew would come in handy. All hail the Allen key 🙇‍♂️

“The mushroom killer was obsessed with true crime”. If this had been a young person someone would be calling for a ban. The vast majority of true crime fans don’t become killers, just like most young people playing violent video games or listening to rap don’t go on to pop a cap in somebody’s ass.

'there is a special place in hell for politicians who object to solar farms & other renewable projects. But perhaps the hottest part is reserved for those who seek to slow pylons and other forms of electricity transmission, they keep us on course for a burning world. bright-green.org/2023/11/07/g...
Greens need to fall on the right side of the coming pylon wars
The energy transition will need major infrastructure. It's vital Greens don't oppose it.

FACTCHECK: Almost all the headlines on Tony Blair / net-zero are *wildly* inaccurate

REALITY:

1️⃣Net-zero is *only way* to stop warming
2️⃣Blair calls for tech to "turbocharge our path to net-zero"
3️⃣He categorically *does not* say "net-zero is doomed to fail"

Net immigration across NI has averaged less than 3,000 people over the last two decades. If immigration is the cause of all our ills, NI should be the most prosperous part of the UK. Spoiler: it’s not. Despite the rhetoric, immigration is good for the economy.

Think Reform’s net-zero announcements may well be their first big mistake since their rise in the polls. There would definitely be scope to criticise specific climate measures, but trying to actively reverse shift to renewables lands well on wrong side of British public opinion.
