And I'll pass on my annual reminder that bee conservation (in North America at least) is all about native bees, not about imported, domesticated honey bees!

A layer of puffy gray clouds catch the light before the sun breaks the horizon coloring the underside of the clouds progressively brighter shade of pink-ish orange, before a band of clear air glows a bright yellow. Below that above the horizon, another cloud bank glows similarly in the distance. on the top left a maple tree limb with branches covered in buds and small leaves leans into the scene from the riverbank in silhouette. the ends of shrubs extending over the river lead tot he bottom of the image. Water with a slight texture reflects the color from above interrupted only by the silhouettes of the far bank on the right, and the bank seen in the distance as the river curves to the right.

A little crab spider comes out to say hi from its temporary home inside of a purple bearded iris. It's sitting right on top of the yellow and orange beard. The purple iris has big white centers on each of the petals. The petals themselves create a perfect little cave for hiding.
