Great piece and very heartening. Speaking as someone who desperately wants UBI to work and only worries about all the landlords raising rents in response. Maybe I'm not optimistic enough.

And isn't there a Barclay episode where he's afraid of the teleporter and he's depicted as fully conscious during the process? That would suggest the latter interpretation.
