I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

It's #WorldFisheriesDay. My first visit to the Cameroon coast, here in lovely Kribi. Later today I will be at the Fête Crevette, a celebration of the history, ecology and culture of fisherfolk who catch the unique prawns here in Cameroon.

The Swedish fire log. Simple and beautiful. I shall be making some of these when I'm back for the Christmas holidays. 2 chainsaw cuts in a pine log, and a firelighter to get it going. Bliss.
