Yesterday, I was here again, where I first was 52 years ago - and the right side of the road said ‘welcome back’ and the left side said ‘be off with you, turn your collar up, get where you were always going.’

Here, the twelve sky-borne copper seahorses of the Civic Centre, atop a twenty-five bell carillon, guard the eight smaller seahorses on the beacon above. The weight of their responsibilities notwithstanding, they keep an eye on me this morning, as I make my way down the road.
