But what about the cost of the vehicle? $40,000, a reasonable price for a vehicle, spread over 10 years would be about $10 a day. Insurance may run you another $3,600 annually, or another $10 a day.

Personally, I’d be OK with my insurance co. getting my driving data if it gave me feedback to improve my driving (and lower my insurance bill). I’m guessing in a few yrs, they’ll insist we keep our hands off the steering wheel & let the car drive itself, which will be safer.

On any toll road it wud not be hard to compare the time you enter and leave the road & calculate your average speed and send a bill to anyone whose speed was over the limit. But my guess is that wud meet widespread opposition.

But we don’t want strict enforcement. We cud send data from our smart cars & get a monthly bill for speeding or other reckless driving but my guess is that wud be very unpopular. We assume the cops will let us go 7-8 mph over the speed limit so when a machine enforces a strict limit it seems unfair.

Still remember images of folks lined up 50-deep at gas stations during the Carter administration. One picture was worth hundreds of news articles.

Yeah, disappointing that some folks think the entire library may be focused on Philodemus. The hope has always been that it was a wide ranging collection and might reveal some lost masterpieces. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Had an editor who would walk toward my desk with one hand on her head mimicking a shark fin while humming the theme from Jaws. Always got my attention.

I somehow got on his campaign email lists & I was always getting offers to be in a drawing to have dinner w/him or win some other prize if I only donated $47. But we never saw any announcements of any winners. 100% sure there were no winners.

Consider the optics. Best would be a big rally of people outside, w/TV showing empty seats inside. TV wud have a hard time ignoring it, mite even do split screen w/him speaking & silent video of the crowd outside. Slotkin does rebuttal while he talks, outside, so TV wud use clips of her & big crowd.

In that sense the “Gulf of America” name actually makes sense.

What's funny is he thinks he's humiliating. Trudeau but in reality, he's rallying Canadians to back Trudeau and maybe even saving the Liberal Party's chances in the next election.

Help me here tho. So Adams lets ICE go into Rikers, supposedly to remove folks who are jailed there and move them to a jail elsewhere, so the feds will have to pay for them? Or is he kicking them out of the country with no guarantees that the receiving country will continue to jail them?

Wow. So all the Israeli settlers on the West Bank cud move to Gaza and all the Gazans move to the West bank and have their own unified country! And give the Gazans the Negev so they'd have access to the sea. Think big!
Also, why can't pigs fly?
