I have a connection to the Liquorish family name in my England maternal family line. In this branch is my 1st cousin 4x Melancthon Zwingle Eldridge, another unique name. Few living individuals still carry the Liquorish surname as it has generally disappeared into variations like Lickorish.

Thanks, I have seen a few. You may enjoy Okie's interview from the Memory Project. A part I like "I had never seen or heard of pipe bands. To me, bagpipes looked like somebody's idea of a joke, and all their tunes sounded the same. But the drumming was different and fast, and I loved it."

I found a few newspaper articles, and some history on Ancestry. Looks like she was born in BC, went south for schooling before the war, and was also a medical x-ray technician.

Thank you for sharing these photos, I really appreciate it. My other connection to the band is through my aunt Mona Michie Horn. Okie married my uncle Tom Horn after Mona died. The pipe band held reunions for years, one of them was in Bartlesville, OK.

Here is another band photo I believe is from Kitchener. Miriam Bernice 'Okie' Magness Horn is kneeling on the left in the front row, and I think that might be Pat in the front row just to the right. When I found this photo Okie said "That's the one where I look like Jay Leno's younger sister." :-)

This may have another connection to Pat with the CWAC's, possibly training Fall 1942. Summer uniforms suggest perhaps in British Columbia. More than the full complement of the band at its largest, and more with ranks. Okie's eyesight hasn't been good for a while, might see if she recognizes anyone.

I believe there is only one remaining member, Bernice Magness. After graduating high school in Sand Springs, OK at 17 she headed to Kitchener to join the CWAC's. As a high school drummer, the Pipe Band was the place for her to be. Two months away from 99, she can still drum.

Hello Caitlin, Brad pointed me towards this as I have a family relationship to two of the members. Do you still have the album?
