Additionally, we have the problem of environmental policy requiring long term thinking, planning and commitment versus politicians thinking short term till the next election. Needs cross party concensus and in the current world that's never going to happen

Absolutely. Fundamental principle in this country that the law applies to all equally. The longer this goes on the more you realise that this just isn't the case and that at the moment the law only applies to the 'little people'
