Things are looking ugly for tabletop game makers, especially those in the middle of a Kickstarter. Even worse, there's no way to predict what things might be like in a month or six months or a year. www.polygon.com/tabletop-gam...

RFK Jr. as head of HHS brings to mind the quote "Some of you may die, but that's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make." Any reduction in vaccinations will means thousands of illnesses that need not have occurred.

This is a useful document for, um, research. Yes, research, that's why I pulled it down. Not like it'll have any real world applications. I mean, you wouldn't use some of this stuff, oh, I don't know, talking to ICE or something. Theoretically, that is.

I haven't looked at music software for at least a decade -- and boy, have things changed. Free music score creation, transcription of audio, scan in sheet music... yeah, when I need another hobby to spend time on there are lots of fun tools. But I'm busy enough with game design, family, and home.

If was worth a billion dollars or multiple billions, I would find it easy to stand against the president. Yes, it might cost me billions -- but I'd have plenty left. It's sad that the extreme wealth of the techbros leaves them spineless, but all we can do is go to other platforms.

The critical problem facing electronic game developers is this: Every day over 200 games are released, between mobile, PC, and console. And only about 6% of new games get any traction at all, since most people stay with games they already play.

With a TikTok ban on the way, and FB/Threads/Instagram becoming as awful as XTwitter, it sure looks like BlueSky is the real place for civilized discourse. Now all I need is something interesting to say.

Given Meta's choices (get rid of fact-checking, allow more political content) moving to BlueSky seems like a very good idea.

One thing I feel RPGs have generally neglected is helping a new player become a Game Master. It's not an easy problem, and the answer involves a number of things, including game rules options, play suggestions, and eventually software to help bring people into the role I call Story Guide.

Thoughts on roleplaying games that have guided the design of my new tabletop RPG: One is that there are several barriers to the spread of the RPG hobby, including price, the difficulty of leading RPG play, complexity of rules, and the diversity of play styles.

Here's how. One of the fundamental ideas of my new RPG is that while it can be played as a complete RPG in and of itself, I've designed it so that you can use the parts you like in the RPG you're currently playing.

Does the world need another roleplaying game? No, there are plenty, with all sorts of different features. So my challenge is to introduce a new roleplaying game that can be useful to as many roleplayers as possible. How can I do that?

Silverado is on Netflix, and I watched it again. This time I noticed how many great ideas are in there for roleplaying games, on how to get multiple characters involved in a story arc, and giving each character a moment to shine -- and some clear choices to make.

I've been on BlueSky for a while, but this is my first post. As with other social media, regular posting is a must if your goal is followers. So I will be planning a regular series of posts on RPGs... stay tuned.

I'm new to BlueSky, but I will be active this year as I start discussing my new roleplaying game on a regular basis. I intend to help all tabletop roleplayers and bring that experience to a wider audience.
