Is that proportion because of clubs being willing to play local youth? I.e United playing more youngsters? Or it’s broader?

@melbournevictory.com.au or @gomvfc.com.au is the better avenue. Bluesky has in built domain verification to protect against this kind of squatting problems.

Sorry - I wasn’t countering your comments. It was a genuine question! Do we know if any of the funding been released?

Yes - understand, but that isn’t actually verification of the date of birth. My understanding is the new proposed law requires actual verification.

What actually happened to the $200m fund for women’s sport off the back of the World Cup? Has there been any allocations/use?

But using that app as an example it has age verification services built in - which just provides a yes/no answer to “is this person 18?”.

You give more data away when you get ID checked at a high risk Bar/Nightclub and they use a scanner to check the ID doc.

For disclosure - I was employed by Australia Post to work on their Digital iD product for 3 years.

Digital ID is chronically misunderstood. People believe this needs to be government issued - and that leads to conspiracy theories around Gov surveillance and control.

There are self sovereign ID providers (and private corporations) which actually do an excellent job at protecting your data.

Age Verification - I don’t think the old “are you 18?” On Dan Murphy’s site will cut it per this legislation.

In order to verify, SM will require users to upload a valid form of ID.

From a privacy and data protection perspective - that’s a terrible idea.

Alternative, is a Digital ID
