Enjoyed a coffee in the garden earlier, and spotted this beauty of a jersey tiger having a rest. Great markings, and incredibly orange underwings when seen in flight. Dorset @dorsetwildlife.bsky.social @dorsetbutterflies.bsky.social

Magpies are not one of my favoured birds in the garden. They’ve moved on from terrorising the great tit youngsters, now settling for tucking into stag beetles. RIP Mr Stag

Taunton trail half marathon completed this morning. A great event to have as my last half marathon - my knees have had enough battering and it’s time to drop the miles to enjoying my running gain. Saturday parkruns are the order of the day from now on.

Well that’s a new one for me. Great tits fledged last Friday, and the fledglings are being fed by both parents, as is normal. The female however, has been back at the nestbox every night and is now sitting on a fresh clutch of eggs! Whilst still feeding the first bunch!

A day away from the office, a great way to refresh the mind and enjoy being surrounded by birdsong. Bonus of catching (and releasing) a few fish as well!

EnduranceLife Dorset was an epic experience today, running 10km from Worth to Swanage in huge wind and slippery conditions underfoot. Really enjoyed that!
