Trump wasn’t defamed a) because he hasn’t suffered injury and, b) because he did want and incite violence. The BBC should send him a letter reading: “Soz.” with a penny sellotaped to it. Invite him to sue if he doesn’t like it.

Second, because something is natural or a product of evolution doesn’t show that it’s good or permissible. This is an example of the is-ought fallacy (see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Is%E2%8...)

Just a couple of observations. One is that intelligence is a dangerous thing to hang moral status on. Especially if you’re tying it to a permission to kill. Think of what that would mean for some humans.

“The government has shown genuine concern for universities“ - an extraordinarily charitable claim!

Trump wanted violence, he encouraged violence, he stood by when violence occurred, and then he defended the violence that happened. Trump isn‘t threatening to sue the BBC because it painted an inaccurate picture of him, he‘s doing it because he thinks criticising or defying him should be forbidden.

During the insurrection, Trump claimed the election had been fraudulent & said: ‘You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.‘. He repeatedly called for a fight, over hours - to a crowd he knew was armed.

When Trump told his followers to march on Capital Hill & ‘fight like hell‘, following with ‘peacefully and patriotically‘ might as well have been said with a nod & a wink. While insurrectionists chanted calls to hang Mike Pence, Trump posted attacks on Pence.
