Runner, cyclist, web developer etc.
They were great books for a kid thirsty for knowledge. And updated annually(?) which really helped. I seem to remember being most intrigued by the exotics - the Convair Sea Dart or Cessna Dragonfly

Pored over this so many times, should have been a black belt at Top Trumps

An Ass Saver may help a little

Did that in a Premier Inn a few years back. They advised me that if next time I gave them advanced notice they’d give me the accessible room so I did not need to put the bike vertically in the lift to get it upstairs.

100 miles each way to Telford and back. Will definitely do this again one day.

I’m in that age demographic. I joined a running club. We go out twice weekly all year round plus parkruns and events. Cycling has taken a back seat and I’m now a fair weather cyclist. Also I do Yoga weekly, great for core work if you don’t like gyms. So much less sofa and TV!

I’m not sure if I prefer that to our Leeds/Liverpool green sludge look. It hides the canal’s contents and makes you wonder whether it’s thick enough to walk across yet 😬

That’s really opened things up! Maybe time to put big boy pants on and get those Rivington Moor tiles ticked off

Hmmmm….. nope! 😬

Yeah, it’s having a valid explanation that doesn’t take ages to explain and make you look like a very strange human being… 😀 having done Geocaching that helps explain why you are loitering with intent

Yep, north of Wigan. And having taken up running it’s opened up a few new routes that I wouldn’t cycle (Great Hill etc) but VV kindly includes runs as well as rides 🙂

It was, but access was questionable, no signs against but then nothing confirming a right of way. And it’s very visible to anyone who isn’t expecting too see a living soul out there at any time. So I turned around and came back, thinking 2 passes had to be good enough. 😕

I’m blocked by the Ribble Estuary north and west, Knowsley Safari Park in the south and Winter Hill to the east 😕

Tiling challenges can be very frustrating! This is one on the Ribble Estuary. Not sure I should have even been there, not sure I really want to go back again! 😕

Sorry, you may need to go get a plaster now

What's *your* body of water?

Innominate Tarn (as much for the name as the location and sheer beauty)

You could certainly say that about 50% of Top Secret, and the other 50% you know exactly where it’s going and are delighted when they do go there.

We did that a few years back. In the age of modern high-speed transport (ref. the two bridges nearby) it seems an incredible throwback to a long forgotten age to spend a tiny amount of money to have the official boatman row you across the canal.

A lot of these, like the Gazelle and Modus are very heavy, fine for inner city but poor if you want to add a little gravel. IMHO the Ribble Hybrid ALe is excellent for being a little more road and light trail than purely a city bike.

It’s sad that most coffee shops close in the evening. Pubs that serve coffee don’t hit the mark when you just want to sit somewhere relatively quiet with a hot non-alcoholic beverage and a slice of cake and read a book.
