There were certain items in your video I found odd.
That high at voltages AC and DC transmission costs are similar. AC transmission has additional costs due to additional capacitive and inductive losses.
Secondly high DC voltages cannot efficiently be transformed to lower voltages

The paradox is that the UK has a booming Stock Market and yet a declining jobs market. Seemingly none of the points you raise above affect company profitability.
In my opinion, we are witnessing the results of the move away from an industrial economy to a London based service economy in the 1980's.

For how long will this government allow American money to finance political parties and individuals who work against our national interest?

The trouble is that times are becoming more polarised. Now that Badenoch now wants to leave the ECHR, it makes a Reform/ Tory alliance more likely. I fear for this country. As a retiree I would quit this country tomorrow if I could as I see no future for it. The lunatics have taken over the asylum

Looking at the Vera Rubin first look photos, are there more really more galaxies than we thought?
If so, will this affect our cosmological models?
Presumably the ratio of dark matter to visible will remain unchanged. However would this affect the universe's overall density and hence its expansion.

I'm not sure why modifying a bill is such a big deal. If a government put forward an idea and the backbenchers i.e. those who listen to voters in their surgeries say its a bad idea, as a result the bill gets changed, so what?
Look where Thatcher's conviction politics got us.

Interesting fact - the Vietnamese Constitution is almost a complete translation of the American Constitution. Ho Chi Minh admired the American work ethic but deplored their greed. Imagine how matters would have turned out if they had worked with the Vietnamese rather than bombing them.

They began whinging last night before anyone knew what the conclusion of the summit was. It was a case of never letting the facts get in the way of a good moan.

By definition, an immigrant arrives in a country to live. I have lived and worked in a number of countries and have never been seen as an immigrant. All this does is inflate numbers, which are used as ammunition by Farage.

I can not understand why such groups as students and workers on temporary visas are counted as immigrants. Overseas students only remain for the length of their studies, without them our Universities would go bankrupt. Equally, workers on temporary visas return are needed.

The argument is badly put, referring to Leavers in that way, but there is disquiet in many countries against the open borders policy - Germany, France, and The Netherlands in particular. Maybe an accommodation could be made that would relieve tensions in those countries as well.

Not so, he and Thatcher stabbed Gorbachov in the back and backed Boris Yeltsin, a corrupt drunkard who gave the Kleptocrats a free hand.

It would appear that a new Axis of Evil has arisen in this world - Trump & Putin.

Today was one of your best programs. It is high time someone took the torrent of poison that is coming from across the Atlantic and being weaponised by the British right.

I hope that is irony🤣

Why are Trump and Musk shoving their over privileged noses into British affairs?
Is this some kind of projected coup?
We should reject these intrusions into our politics strongly and give the nasty wannabe quisling Farage the boot he so richly deserves.

Much of the talk is that there will be an election tomorrow, not 4 years away. I take heart from your central argument.
Further I believe Trump in the next 4 years will cause such universal friction and descencion that quislings such as Farage will become toxic to decent minded people.

Universal health care is a precious commodity, and like all precious commodities, you have to guard it carefully. Otherwise, the thieves will steal it away.

Agree 100%.
It's amazing how Farage was so keen to get us out of European control, and now wants to put into the control of American big business. This needs stopping.
