Had a poster of Emerson Fittipaldi in his JPS Lotus on my bedroom wall, my second car was Mk 2 Cortina GT and had it painted in JPS colours at my grandads garage, materials bought by my parents for my Christmas present.

Loved that car.

It’s always very sad when anyone loses their life but if anyone had told him before he raced that he wouldn’t get to the finish he would still have got into the car.

That’s what makes them feel alive.
