Used to work on the Waitrose meat counter when I was 16-18yo. Wrapped up a whole fillet of beef, maybe about £80 worth, and the bloke walked straight out the door.

Was having a few beers in the next town over, about 3 miles away. Delightfully made the last train for my one-stop journey. Except the last train doesn’t stop at the first 3 stations. Saw my bedroom window as we went past. Had a lovely 5 mile walk home.

When looking at the books in a charity shop, I now automatically filter out anything but smaller paperbacks. The standard size paperback can get fucked.

There’s proper Guinness taps at WHL. Can’t speak for the quality of the pour, but the facilities are there.

Not yet, though I believe it’s going to be introduced soon. I think Covid may have put a large cohort of children at risk as they haven’t gained immunity the old fashioned way.
