I have seen some papers which have used perma.cc, but I have not used it myself (I have used the Internet Archive, which was fine for my purposes).
Websites change. Perma Links don't.

It's amazing how far pie technology has come - in the 1960s, the smallest pie anyone could make would fill an entire room, and now they can make them small enough to hold in one hand. Remarkable.

Ah, I meant that at least the supplementary file didn't link to some third file, which would keep the trail of breadcrumbs going and prolong the time before a reader realised there was no data to be shared...
