There must be “reasons” why our national meteorology website can’t support https, but every year it becomes a little more comical.

Also 0/10 points for mobile responsiveness - fair to say a few people are using a mobile device while a cyclone bears down on us 😬

One of those annoying problems i've encountered is how to dynamically load Vue components, but avoiding having to essentially eager load everything upfront.

Welp, after a long weekend, 10ish hours 😅, 4,545 browser tabs and dozens of chats with AI, I finally cracked the riddle.

It’s funny to think how the internet is the Wild West, and as software developers we play cat and mouse with people trying to hack or DDoS our apps pretty much 24/7/365.

Sure, some of it is easily blocked, but sometimes it is sophisticated, and blocking whole countries is an ok solution.

Inspired by @justinjackson.ca’s Laravel starter pack, I’ve thrown together one of Australian Laravel folks!

Keep in touch with some local people sharing your affinity for the Laravel framework, between Laracons.

Missed people? Let me know!

TIL that people live stream on IG / TikTok holding up products and saying “this one is 5 bucks”, then someone comments “buy” and then the streamer sends a PayPal link to the buyer.

And this actually works and takes market share from established ecommerce sites.

Frankly I’m impressed 🤯

Annual “holy shit it’s December” moment is currently underway.

Equal parts panic (about the various 2023 wip items that I want to tick off) and opportunity (what do I need to fix for 2025 and let’s do that now).

In other words, starting a new list before I finish the old list 😂

I put together a little starter pack for Australian / Australia-based Laravel developers.

Who's missing?

Nice to see Bluesky at #3 and X at #74 for top free apps in Australia!

Of course a gambling app sits at #2 😂

With events like Laracon putting Bluesky on people’s radar, here’s hoping to see more AU developers here 🤞

Had a great time with the Coding Labs crew at Laracon AU!

More importantly, got around the room and chatted with many speakers and attendees rather than hiding in the corner like prior years!

Big thanks to @dyrynda.au for making this biggest and best AU Laracon!

Considering a last minute hotel booking for #laraconAU - so awesome to be just up the road from the Gold Coast for the first time, but I just thought about After Dark 🍻 -> last train home -> early train back for the first time 😬

Hello, World!

I’ve used Laravel Forge and Vapor since launch.

Things I like:
- yml manifests
- zero downtime deployments
- autoscaling

Things I don’t like:
- docker
- lambda limitations

Is it sane to build my own open source high-availability infra CLI tool for AWS, and would anyone use it?
