He wasn't living with his mother at the time. He stayed with an Uncle and Aunt in Maghull for about 3 months and the pregnancy was kept secret from him. He only found out when his dad Alf told him in the 60's.

Nonsense. He did know of his half sister and tried to trace her, without success as adoption records were sealed and her surname had been changed.
