Just your average left leaning science fiction nerd. Be excellent to each other.
The Wicked films have made a billion dollars. Hamilton still sells out all over the country. Musicals are a viable cultural medium and I don’t blame them for incorporating it. TNG, DS9, and VOY all had soapy elements. I’ve watched Trek for 40+ years and I loved Disco and SNW. Opinions are fun!

It’s frustrating to see so many alleged fans demand that Trek be what it was from 1987-2005. It’s been 20 yrs, our culture and world have changed and Trek is merely adapting to that reality. Living in the past is not something Trek needs to do. I love seeing the new visions of what Trek can be.

Sadly Finebaum wins either way. He will win the election or if not ESPN just rehires him the next day. The allure of grifting from corporate lobbyists seems to be more lucrative than grifting football fans in the south. I can only hope something comes out in the campaign that tarnishes him forever.

This would be like Star Trek 28 if all the announced Trek films over the years actually got made. Like you, heavy dose of skepticism on this.

I’ve had this one for awhile, even more fitting in this new age of AI insanity

They are so desperate to prevent someone similar to Zohran Mamdani emerging in an open primary. It terrifies them that someone other than a corporately owed Dem could win the nomination.

The funniest bit in that episode was after killing Welshy, the alien cloud later punishes the Planet Express crew again by zapping Welshy’s dead body. The ultimate red shirt and a great episode of Futurama.

It’s hilarious that when they propose this they always seem to do it in such a manner that would prevent Obama from running again. They are such petty, weak little men.

After Legion and Fargo, I’d trust Noah Hawley with just about anything. This show looks great, especially since we likely see other Aliens besides the Xenomorph. Very excited for this.

I think this is why Marvel is moving towards a version of 2015 Secret Wars comic and will do a soft reboot where some elements of the MCU will remain and others (Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther) will get recast and start over. It will be a new starting point for viewers.

When you are too incompetent for the most incompetent administration in our nation’s history, that’s truly something.

Absolutely covered up for Ohtani. They were able to bribe/threaten that guy to do the nickel in prison for him, but someday soon someone is going to sing to avoid jail and the house of cards will begin to fall.

Particularly bad because of the involvement of the broadcast partners too. There are a few percolating cases already, but only a matter of time before an entire sports league is crippled by a massive cheating scandal involving players and gambling outfits. It’s absolutely going to happen.

“Give this man a Sundae” was pure genius.

I would like to dare anyone who has supported the mass layoffs at the NIH and elsewhere to watch this beautiful moment. Then see if they can explain why public research should be kneecapped to prevent moments of joy like this from happening again.

I love the fact they admit the person had the information then try to say it was incorrect. I guarantee they will just move it up or back a day or two in order to maintain the illusion that the information was wrong all along instead of admitting one person simply let the truth slip in a comment.

That clip does prove how afraid Trump and Putin are if a more unified and resolute EU emerges to protect Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltics.

Truly hope the Doctor listens to you, and does the right thing. Glad you have a back up plan too, and whatever route it takes its truly important you find the solution you need.

I didn't discover this show until after Picard S3 when people kept mentioning it because of you and Terry. So glad I did, it truly elevates the source material and is an amazing show. And its the reason I now think of this show and not the Breakfast Club whenever Simple Minds hits the radio!
