This is my garlic bed mulched with shredded autumn leaves. Shredded leaves lock together & have remained in place despite the recent bad weather & Storm Claudia.

Successful cataract surgery yesterday. Raining today, I have to take it easy so decanted red cabbage, turmeric & black pepper sauerkraut. 😋

A war hero. My father. He fought fascism. Trump insults his & his brave colleagues memories. Trump is a coward.

The bigger picture is a protest was allowed because we are a democracy. On an individual basis those that 'allowed' themselves to be part of it supported the same values of the organisers.

I agree with your sentiments about Labour.

Have another read of Neville 2020. He even names the leaders.

Neville Southall succinctly describes this in 2020. The inequality & promotion of hate & division. He even gets the names of the leaders right. Read this

My style of gardening ♥️

I'll admit to exasperation with this courgette. It was late. Eaten to within an inch of its life by slugs, but survived. It has flowered but no fruit. Now, early September, fruits are beginning to show. Is it too late? I don't know, but I'll give it a glare if it helps 🤨

It may be the rain, the slightly damp atmosphere but the scent of this second bloom 'Rosa Bluff' (?) stops you in your step.
If we were all to smell the roses as we walk, this has to be up there with the best.

What a delight this year. Beautiful colours & growth. Neighbours requests for cuttings have been granted & they've had many passer-by admirers.

That's a really helpful email from Everton FC about what to expect on Sunday. But this bit about expecting to be searched. Who will do the searching? Stewards ok or the G4S security (they are now a global private security service) we've seen a lot of the last few seasons. What rights do they have?

Everything you say plus, the power of fermentation. I also add garlic, bay leaves & rosemary to my tumbling toms. All from the garden. It won't be the last 😋

This dwarf bearded iris is called 'Double Blessed', because if you're lucky it blooms a second time. I never know which one will. They just decide amongst themselves.

I'm not going to share holiday snaps on here but if pressed can show some beautiful scenery of the banks of the Danube.
But the Danube is mainly a working river. A working river with humour 😂

It has unspeakably beautiful architecture, a reminder how some, in the past, gave back (part) of their wealth for generations to enjoy. I've just read up on the 12 Labours of Hercules after seeing the statues outside the Spanish Riding School (sigh).
It was hot though. The Cathedral 🔻
