Who votes? Mainly older people. They represent the majority of nimbys I think. Basically, boomers. Until we can get the youth to vote… nimbys will win and vote against necessary progress.

i suspect there’s more to it still. Canada‘s history is no better. We are also built on stolen land, we also had slavery (though we like to think we didn’t). At 45, I’m still learning about atrocities we perpetrated on our indigenous people (Never taught in school). the issue is morality.

Why aren’t people reacting more strongly? It would take WAY less than that for the people to rise up and paralyze a country like they do in France.

In most other G7 countries, there would be nothing exceptional about the election of someone like mamdani. Only in the US 🤦♀️

They are not given opportunities, they take them. They are indeed awful. The problem is no one is stopping them. Checks and balances must not only exist they must be enforced consistently.

Everything is relative indeed. Friends from Europe find our Canadian left to be quite to the right. Sanders seems quite central from my Canadian perspective. nothing extreme there whatsoever. Many here are rooting for him and can’t fathom he’s not more popular.

Medical advice should only come from… medical professionals. I assume there are laws against people impersonating medical professionals. Even in the US.
