Is there a benefit to tracking each node of madness? Every day I struggle. I meditate and reflect on the collective unconscious. I count the daffodils blooming in the spring sunlight, thank the sparrows singing in the trees, send e-mails to Congress, make phone calls. Protest. Resist. Weep.

We’ve had two days of steady rain. The surrounding hills are obscured by clouds, but the ponds are filling and green blades of water grass are emerging. In town the forsythia is brilliant yellow. Meanwhile, the human comedy continues. I wonder what of this will endure in the record of deep time.

I'm disinclined to visit this platform. It's swamped with reposting of stories by respected writers, which offer no new news. He lies. Yes. He is dismantling democracy. Yes. Tell me something I don’t already know. Outrage solves nothing.

Imagination is needed when face with unprecedented chaos.

Bellingham. A couple hundred people convened near the old Federal Building, which serves other purposes these days. People held signs. They chanted. There’s so much to protest. Trump/Musk. Flood the zone. As the rain started, I left, stopping at the bakery for a cookie on my way home.

I’m learning how Blue Sky works. Note to file: some prominent figures flood their threads with reposts of publications I already follow. So I’m unfollowing them. I’d rather read original work than be endlessly redirected to other sources.

I feel grumpy.

A boycott works only if supporters commit to sacrifices that go with it. So I post this to a world of strangers because my “friends” don’t want to abandon what they know. They fear being left out. They will miss the dopamine rush that happens with a “like.” Change is difficult.
