My 9x great grandparents were on the pioneering Ark and Dove. Married in St Mary’s City in 1634. She was the sister of Cuthbert Fenwick. He was the first man hanged for piracy in North America in 1638. Thomas Smith. Hanged as an example by Leonard Calvert. Not a happy ending. 2/2

I’m a Trustee of the marvellous house built by George Calvert in 1625 before he went on to found Maryland as a colony. Big year for us in 2025.
