This is Claude the Magnificent atop a 7 foot post. To be honest I didn't think he had it in him. But up he sent, like a rat up a drain pipe. No messing. I love that boy.❤️

Ah, Claude the Magnificent. These days he rarely fails to greet me when I return from the pub. And I rarely stay on my feet when I see him because, well, he's such a beautiful, beautiful boy.

I get that to, usually in the early hours. I thought retiring would put an end to it but no. The older I get the more I seem to whittle. I'm also suffering with cat separation anxiety if we go away and leave Claude the Magnificent to it. Mind you, can you blame me? He's very magnificent.

I recently visited the beautiful village of Mijas with my wife and friends. We found a small gallery there and these most excellent photographs. The one of the old duffer in the white robe could easily be me. It's not. But it could be. 🙂

Me, 1990s, pretending to be a mannequin outside the taxi rank where I pretended to be shot dead a week later as a prank played on another driver. His name was Dave and we had to go and fetch him because he ran so far away when he heard the gun go off and I dived out the door onto the pavement.

It wasn't just that Tuesday. It was every fifth Tuesday of the month. And sometimes it was till 11.36 or even 37.

This is Robin. He comes and finds me in the garden every morning. We are becoming friends. I feed him mealworms from a packet reserved just for him. These days he comes so close I could touch him. My goal is to get him to feed from my hand before the big day. That will be my present to myself.
