Trump would never give up leverage over anyone, especially someone like Musk

they have something 10 years ahead of the f-22? They have aircraft carriers stationed all over the world, and just as many commissioned and currently being serviced?

we live in a post-truth environment. facts about the balance of federal payments are not relevant to the people who voted the GOP into power.

California needs to put some conditions on continued federal payroll tax withholding

my wife and I took our first big grown up vacation in many years last fall. While we were staying in a BnB in Bar Harbor, our kids all got to see the amazing aurora we left behind at home in Massachusetts. oh well.

is that a universal experience? I had to do that for a surprise invitation to a board meeting at my employer, thankfully not for a funeral.
January 14, 2025 at 1:09 AM
no, definitely not. I knocked doors for Clinton in 2016, and if I heard that song anywhere I think I'd get flashbacks.

those 2 rotaries in Arlington would drive any person into Lovecraftian insanity

maybe not even human! some great stories have been told from non-human perspectives. call of the wild and brave little toaster come to mind first.

my theory is that 'billionaire' is a pathology. most people would get to, like, 10 million, and bug out. It takes something wrong to keep driving and exploiting people until you get to that level.

almost everything about food is better. when I was a kid in the 70s/80s, grocery store produce sections were tired and limited.

tell fucking Seth Moulton to get fucked. we do not throw our allies under the bus for political expediency.
January 11, 2025 at 11:06 PM
my email I can live with. giving out my phone number for these endless sob story fundraising texts is unforgivable.

The article seems to blame a lack of cohesive narrative building, especially shying away from authentic, direct media. I think it's hard to have an authentic narrative, when you're a party that doesn't stand for anything. Find your ideals, find your gumption, stand up for something.

There would be signs. There would be a new pizza place in town that must be losing money the way they use the best ingredients, pay enough to live on, and slices are still $1.
January 11, 2025 at 8:24 PM
whoa, not that bothsides bullshit. I have gripes with the party, but Republicans are a death cult looking to destroy everything in service to their lust for power. Democrats are weak and feckless, but the only viable opposition at the moment. I'd love to replace them, but they have my vote for now
