I recently visited Musée d'Orsay in Paris and was blown away by Claude Monet's Rouen Cathedral series. These five paintings, side by side, depict the cathedral facade under widely different atmospheric conditions. Of course, the subject of these paintings isn't really the cathedral; it is light.
