There are multiple definitions of fascism. Usually idealise past period of glory, have a street army, are against liberalism, are backed by wealthy elite, have contempt for democracy, idealise the strong leader, focus anger on a minority. Right wing ultra nationalists. Seems to fit the bill.

I'm happy with the comparison. Both were illegal. One was destruction of property and the other was an attempted overthrow of democracy. In one the people are criminal in the other they are traitors. Heres a similar attempt in another country

It was an attempt to overthrow democracy, but was it an incompetent attempt well it failed so I guess yes.
