Your photo reminded me of patterns in rock I saw a few years ago - on the east coast of the Isle Of Raasay - inner Hebrides, Scotland. Is it a fossil?

It’s not a secret - back in the 1980s it won a Queen’s award for industry. I have a the promotional leaflet that explains it all.
