The greaest art theft in the 20thC was not the Isabella Stewart Gardner, but the rape and pillage of the Corcoran Art School and Gallery. While the Gardner heist may have involved Irish mobsters, the Corcoran heist involved a far more horrible villain, the NationalGallery of Art administrators.
