Sorry ‘syncretised’ I believe is the correct term

Growing up in Ireland the “accepted wisdom” was that the seasonal festivals such as Imbolc, Bealtaine , Lughnasadh and Samhain were synchronised into Christian festivals along with the old gods, such as the goddess Brigid becoming St Brigid. I had always thought this pagan Easter origin. Not so?
