I got a PhD and somehow I ended up live streaming Dark Souls. Living the dream in west London. He/him and Welsh.

(Profile pic is my black cat.)
He brought it to the screen, not the stage.

(Wasn’t the first time someone had filmed Hamlet, but you’d be right to say that’s not the point.)

HENRY the bloody FIFTH, not Hamlet.

Hoist upon my own petard, I fear.

Oh bollocks. I meant Henry V. I can’t believe I missed that. 🤦‍♂️

I drink very little, but don’t consider myself teetotal. I’m a vegetarian, so that rules out the steak.

I just made a LinkedIn account for new job networking purposes. Haven’t knowingly met any Nazis yet, but it’s only been 24hrs.

SV is brilliant, a career-best for Skarsgård. Also the first film I’ve seen in which he speaks his native tongue.

Let’s keep business and pleasure apart, eh?

That ‘no time for culture wars’ is bothering me, but I haven’t read the link yet. I was prepared for a list of (being generous) ‘Tories it’s OK to like’ and indeed one or two names are there, but ultimately they’re still Tories who happen to be right on one issue.

I just looked at the figures. Flipping heck.

He might appreciate some of the quieter puzzle games.

I find it’s worked wonders for my mental health. In the sense that it takes me away from the news and doomscrolling. It messes with my head in other ways like the frustration of not being able to beat a hard boss - but playing a souls game might not be a good intro. 😆

“Pilates instructor on the side.” How one’s heart sinks.

I’ve been asking myself that question a lot lately, and I still don’t have an answer. Luckily I live in a seat which is very unlikely to go to Reform, and even if that was a threat the Tories wouldn’t be the contender.
January 26, 2026 at 2:24 PM
Existing Reform fans, I agree. But they need to widen their net a bit to be truly competitive.

(Not a typo, by the way, I have no wish to give any thought to the other concept.)

I wonder if Berdimuhamedov is capable of winking?
January 26, 2026 at 2:18 PM
Is he too old to get into gaming?

I mean, I used to be a LibDem and all the ones I knew were definitely left of centre. I think it started to go wrong with the Orange Book crowd, but that was long after I quit the party.
January 26, 2026 at 1:49 PM
Yeah, what worries me (and a lot of people) is the prospect of split votes on the left. Assuming we define ‘left’ as ‘anti-Reform’, otherwise there’s not much space for the LibDems.
January 26, 2026 at 1:45 PM
I was wondering what happened to Chesty Morgan. She’s still alive and she’s 88 now, though I have no other statistics on her.
January 26, 2026 at 1:44 PM
It does feel like we’re at a PASOK stage, but while the replacement on the right is obvious, who’s on the left? Surely not any of the LibDems, Greens or YP?
