If you can't see the model's eyes very well, that's okay: neither could I.

Christmas fare in the supermarket in early September. Blimey.

My art amigo Peter brought these pastels to the sketching group for me. He said he hasn't used them for twenty years. Thank you, Peter!
By now, I think that most of the soft pastels that I have were given to me. "Can you use these, Stephen? I've not used pastels since 1976."

I went to my parents' old church this morning, an hour away. The service flew by.

Three self-portraits painted in pastels from a photo, earlier this year. The first wasn't great, so I tried a second, and got it right the third time. I can't remember which is which, now.

The model has a long face, and I may have lengthened it a bit. Ho-hum...

This morning's sketching group efforts. I did the charcoal drawing in an hour so I knocked out the pastel pencils drawing in the last fifty mins.

I finished the charcoal drawing early, so I did the rather scribbly pastel pencils effort in about twenty minutes. Alas, I made the poor lad look like a supervillain.

I'm watching Dinosaur Jr playing live, on TV. J.Mascis is playing through THREE Marshall full-stacks. Who needs three, for heaven's sake? Still, that may be why Dinosaur Jr is so brilliant.

My car has a burnt-out headlight bulb AGAIN. They seem to last no more than a couple of months. Are manufacturers making them with built-in obsolescence? Is my car a picky little blighter?

It's New Module Day here at the Groove Pad. I hope it's better at accurate arithmetic than I ever was.

Today's sketching group portrait is not a good likeness, but I'm satisfied with it.

It's a Sunday morning, so buy a copy of this, containing some of my most abstract recordings, download it and slap it on the CD player at your church. The fab natural acoustics there would be ideal, AND the other congregants would thank you. Well, possibly.

I'm a glutton for punishment: I bought this to watch this afternoon, though horror films scare the pants off me. Expect whimpering sounds from behind the couch.
