Looks like the AP has called it in favor of "yes" in the Maine Red Flag law ballot measure.

Still a lot of votes to count, but the "Red Flag" law ballot initiative in Maine is well ahead at the moment.

Today was a good day.

Jeep pushed another OTA update last night that seems to have fixed the problem. My Wrangler is running normally again. Live by the OTA, die by the OTA. Not sure there's another option beyond only driving cars that are at least 15-years-old.

I posted this same thread on Twitter and it's now filled with racist replies where the deranged racists are assuming Indian people are to blame for Jeep's screwup. Literally just making stuff up to be racist about.

So, here's what Jeep says. It's the telematics box, which as far as I understand it does diagnostics and ota communications, that's causing the problem. This is the sort of thing I worried about buying a new car, especially a Jeep 4xe. Oh well. www.4xeforums.com/threads/wran...

Don't mind me, just watching the Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles while writing two stories and a newsletter. Feeling very alive right now.

How does SCOTUS propose people prove they're here legally? Kavanaugh is saying ICE has a green light to detain and question anyone who isn't white and speaks with an accent. Does everyone who meets that description have to carry around papers now? What country is this?

Every major gun-rights group has now spoken against the idea of the DOJ trying to strip trans people of their gun rights en masse. GOA, SAF, FPC NAGR, and CCRKBA all publicly oppose the effort.

Not sure what this means since this isn't a thing the Justice Department can just do? It would require a new federal law and likely be unconstitutional.

Trying to get the farm ready for the wedding. Today, that meant chicken run renovations. This is why it pays to put contractors in your wedding party. It helps to be related to them, too.

It appears the provision eliminating the $200 National Firearms Act tax on silencers, short-barrel rifles and shotguns, and the "any other weapon" category has made it into the final text of the budget bill. www.budget.senate.gov/imo/media/do...

Looks like delisting silencers from the National Firearms Act has made it into the manager's amendment. amendments-rules.house.gov/amendments/R...

A number of sources I've talked to who are working on this believe leadership will include a provision delisting silencers from the National Firearms Act alongside the provision eliminating the tax on them. This text from Rep. Cloud is effectively a placeholder right now.
