some movies that I think fit the vibes:
- Synecdoche, New York (2008)... and I guess most Charlie Kaufman movies
- Coherence (2013)... I remember it being good
- It's What's Inside (2024, Netflix)... recently watched, fun, only 103 minutes

This is a very niche subgenre... I have my Graphire 3 from 2004 that is sitting in a storage box, filled with my horcruxes or something.

In the original X-COM (1994) your home base in the overworld gets invaded midway through the game. The mission you enter has the exact layout of the facilities you've built. Pretty mind blowing to first experience in that era of gaming
