"The plot and pacing was fantastic. I loved the merged genres ... not only enjoyable but readable and believable. If you love modern fantasy and science fiction that is grounded in a strong sense of reality this one is definitely for you."

With each of my novels, five so far, I explore a different subject in a different setting, so with each you will get fresh insights, definitely not yet another re-work of an established formula.

Relying too much on logic is a bad idea. Logic has been my comfort blanket, so it pains me arrive at this realisation. But logical reasoning depends upon underlying assumptions, and one false assumption could completely invalidate a whole chain of logic. medium.com/@stephen_for...

A trip to London never fails to provide inspiration for the writing muse, even if it's not always clear to begin with what form that will take on the page. Lovely to see a friend this week and reflect on our recent ups and downs. #AuthorLife #BookSky

Many interesting things to consider here.
This article in The Guardian on the launch of GlobeScribe is worth reading.

Ian Giles, chair of the SoA's Translators Association argues Globescribe “may claim to unlock global access for fiction, but their approach sidelines the very people who make literature resonate across cultures"
AI translation service launched for fiction writers and publishers prompts dismay among translators
UK-based GlobeScribe is charging $100 per book, per language for use of its services, but translators say that nuanced work can only be produced by humans

A book is worth a thousand spelling tests. And, of course, without being able to read you can’t access the rest of the curriculum. These are not soft skills. This is not a soft subject. This is vital, says Cressida Cowell on the National Literacy Trust’s new initiative 👇 #BookSky

Today I've been working on my new novel, which will be my sixth to be published if all goes to plan. These early stages of a book are always interesting to me, bringing the words together on the page to try to capture what's in my head. #AuthorsOfBluesky

Hello, BlueSky! If I can take a moment to introduce myself, I’m Stephen Ford, author of five books so far. Using satire and humour, I explore the nature of mankind and how we are shaped by politics, technology and the natural world, the dystopias we might create and how we might escape.
