Husband, father, pastor of Solihull Presbyterian Church.
I rarely look at the "For you" feed I think because I use lists of chosen accounts which I go to every time. That's enough to keep me occupied.

But I am annoyed by the regular plumbing, home improvement and gadget ads that tug at my conscience.

I have been challenged for many years about how the gospel is preached in the book of Acts. There is a strong redemptive-historical emphasis there on preaching to both Jews and Gentiles that seems quite unlike what many people call "gospel preaching" today. I'm still puzzling about it. (5/5)

Makes the same point. Just get on and preach the gospel. Other "apologies" have their place, but this is essential.

So, the question is, how should the gospel be preached? What is the content of the message? (4/5)

...that they should kindly stand back, and open the door, and let the lion out! I believe that would be the best way of defending him, for he would take care of himself; and the best 'apology' for the gospel is to let the gospel out."

...that they had to defend a lion, full-grown king of beasts! There he is in the cage, and here come all the soldiers of the army to fight for him. Well, I should suggest to them, if they would not object, and feel that it was humbling to them, (2/5)
