To be clear, there is no tax cut. Taxes still go up 1.64%. Less than planned, but still an increase. Paid for in part by Calgarians who rely on transit, since fares are going up. A family with 1 adult and 1 high school student who take transit will pay $156 more per year for monthly passes.

Looking forward to a clear update on the impact for taxpayers of the potential loss of funds via the housing accelerator fund, due to repeal of rezoning. Are we on the hook for anything already spent by the City? And if so, what is the specific impact on tax rates? Time for transparency.

Hey @jeromyyyc.bsky.social! Care to comment on how fining homeless people for throwing their cigarette butts on the ground actually gets to the root of the problem? Can we expect the same level of enforcement out side the Saddledome after the game tonight? @calgarypolice.bsky.social

CBC posted a modified version of the story, redacting several of the vile quotes included in the original story. For the life of me, I can’t understand why. The quotes are repugnant, and the story shouldn’t be sanitized.

I’m new to the riding after boundary changes effective April 2024, and we have yet to hear from the new MP. In fact, still received mailbox flyers from the incorrect MP until just last month. Heads up that many voters (including progressives) near 32 Ave don’t realize they are now in your riding.
