A doctor’s office is too small for a GP, a patient, and the Coalition party room.

Gender affirming care is healthcare and every person in this country is entitled to access the healthcare they need.

It is of fundamental importance that this review is led by experts and people with lived experience, not driven by ideology. We must hold this process to account and ensure that we arrive at the best possible healthcare outcomes for trans and gender diverse Australians.

The deal with liberal democracy is that you get to be yourself so long as you aren’t hurting anyone else.

Trans + gender diverse people should have the freedom to affirm their gender. Healthcare involved in this process should be between the person and their medical specialists, not Barnaby Joyce.

Trans and intersex people exist whether the Coalition wants them to or not. Not everyone is born with XX or XY chromosomes - over 60k Australians were born with variations of sex characteristics.
