New novel Twiggy Voo? features a variety of real life cast of characters. Including a younger Winston Churchill & his wife Clemmie, plus the muscleman Monte Saldo, the latter becoming the personal trainer to Winston for 'reasons' 😅

Just finished the first book off my book tower from World FantasyCon: The Stones of Landane by @catcavendish.bsky.social. Loved it & would recommend if you'd like a spooky story set in a small village surrounded by standing stones. (yes, I know the real life equivalent, favourite part of the world.)

The past few days, I've been working on a picture of Tommy from The Five Turns World. The result is image top left - my own work, from paper to digital. The other images are me playing with filters to see effects. I have a plan which will probably take all months ... 😅

The two author copies I splashed out on for Harrowfield and Twiggy Voo? arrived today. Both are 5x8 and most def. formatted and uploaded at that size. Noticed these two have just shy of 0.5 cm difference in height (ie Harrowfield is shorter than should be). Anyone else get these discrepancies?

Since Great Britain’s defeat at Waterloo, the island nation has existed as an ‘arrondissemont’ of France. Dowager Empress Eugénie the mother of Emperor Louis-Napoléon, is hosting a country party at her Hampshire home, Farnborough Hill House. Invitations to her Christmas gatherings are coveted and this particular occasion consists of a mixture of aristocracy, businessmen and music hall artistes including the infamous Paulette. Winston Churchill, purveyor of fine meats, and part of Britain’s underground resistance is also invited. His remit is to keep the errant Prince Eddie in check and shed some light on Paulette’s involvement in the scandal swirling around the murder of his friend, singer Harry Fragson. However, when the Empress decides to stage her own ‘murder mystery’ as part of the festivities, a real body in the library appears. Immediately, Paulette is suspected. As snow sets in and isolates the house and its inhabitants, can Winston save her bacon and escape a roasting from both the Emperor and the nominal King, George V?

Finished @erynmccee.bsky.social 's The Woman in White. Emotive and poignant ghost story very much highlighting historic traumas of women and the failure of the establishment to recognise such (then and, to an extent, now, despite public rhetoric - justice does not prevail).

Highly recommend.
