On weird grayish brown carpet, there's a cream colored towel with a shawl pinned to it, being blocked. The shawl is a triangle shawl made up of stripes of 4 colors: teal, gray, pine green, and a dark gray-olive color. There's a very visible "spine" of a double row of yarnovers/holes. Emma dragged herself out of bed at ten-thirty, giving herself enough time to shower and take public transit downtown to meet Chris for lunch, but only barely. She’d exploded in Jordan’s general direction after Jordan got home, and the evening had ended with shots with Louise. Thank goodness they lived in Lakewood, which meant that there was a bar on nearly every corner. The walk home was easily done even while plastered. Icing on the Cape, by Stephanie Cranford Some portion of her thought she should cancel, because showing up for a lunch date with the guy you definitely liked while hungover as fuck was probably tacky, but . . . She didn’t want to say that it was who she was, but it wasn’t inaccurate. She slapped on some foundation, mostly to cover the bruising, a vivid yellow-green today, and threw on sheer lipstick before leaving. Icing on the Cape, by Stephanie Cranford Halfway to the bus stop she remembered that normal people would dress up for a date. But it was March in Ohio, and the weather was somewhere between snow and rain, so her jeans-and-flannel combo should be good enough. The jeans were clean, or at least not actively gross, and they made her ass, which was always great, look spectacular, so that counted as dressing up, right?

You know what's nice is when you put ink in a pen and it just *writes.*
A pen in the middle of a small book. The pen is a black fountain pen, but it's got a tiny nib and a clicky thing on the other end, because it's retractable. The clicky thing, the clip, and the nib are all silver. The writing in the book (in Diamine Writer's Blood, a dark brownish red) says, "Good morning This is the Endless clicky fountain pen and I did not have to argue with it to get it to write!" It is actually called the Phantom. Also the book was a promotional item for The French Dispatch, a movie I have not seen.

What I'm calling the plus/minus scarf. It's about five and a half feet of dark green and white (actually cream) stripes, knit in the round, in sport weight Brava. Each green round is a goal for the Minnesota Wild, each cream colored one is a goal against. The picture is on cream carpet with a paperback for scale. I did later add tassels but I don't have a picture with them. Also there's one red stripe, and that was Gus's goalie goal!!!!

A Regency era gown, in a plum color, short puffed sleeves, with lace around the high waist that I have not sewn down in this shot (I did sew it later). The photo is in a motor, and you can only see part of my face. A barnacle goose stuffie, with black and white face, gray wings with black feather marks, a black neck, a white tail, and some barely visible black feet. It's sitting on a silver laptop, with a red headphone box behind it. The headphone box doesn't cover the background, and you can see my living room, including a blurry Gritty squishable in the background. A lump of knitting! It's a sweater, the Rusty Nail by Thea Coleman, which is an open front cardigan knit from the bottom up flat (sort of; the sleeves were in the round). The yarn is Caron bamboo blend in a nice teal green, and it's on like 24" bamboo circular needles. I'm just past the point of putting the sleeves on in this printer. The sweater blob is on a gray blanket and you can kind of see my dog's feet on the right. My last sweater, Poema by Vera Sanon, in kind of a muted royal blue (Lion Brand Coboo). It's a pullover, knit in the round (top down), and the sleeves have a lace/faux cabling pattern. I'm standing funny so you can see the whole lace pattern, the phone over my face. It's clearly in a bathroom, but whatever.

We're at the stage of pen cleaning where I regret not owning an ultrasonic cleaner...
On a white background (a piece of wax paper over a white towel with faint inkstains), the parts of three disassembled pens. Two nib sections (one is pink and the other is blue and brown, both steel bibs) are in a small cup of water. Remaining, we have a purple/blue Diplomat Platinum (outer parts on the left, nib and cartridge on the right), a bisexual Platinum Plaisir (goes with the pink nib), the outer parts of a Conklin All-American in turquoise and brown (goes with the blue/brown nib), a purple-stained refillable cartridge (was in the Plaisir), and a cleaned cartridge that was in the All-American. There's also a big blue ear bulb thingy in the bottom right corner. The All-American is a stub nib (1.0 I think?), the Diplomat is an M, and the Plaisir I think is an F. I'm not checking, sorry.
