Not much in the news when I googled how we’re doing with the “emissions must peak latest 2025” yesterday.

It’s in the Paris Agreement and the IPCC. Why isn’t it in the news.

“We can’t just get rid of fossil fuels. Everything is made of them, don’t be silly”.
If the goal is emissions reduction, then yes, we can + must.
From 2000-2022, nearly 80% of SAs emissions were from ENERGY. Not other stuff.
Decarbonising our energy sector would change the game for our emissions.

The US State Department has officially designated atrocities in Sudan carried out by the RSF as genocide.

It's not going to provide immediate respite to victims of ongoing atrocities in Sudan. But it's official acknowledgment.

Now...will the US actually reel in the RSF's biggest backer the UAE?
US says Sudan’s RSF committed genocide, announces sanctions on leaders
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says US committed to ‘holding accountable those responsible for these atrocities’.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
