Tickled by these photos for NA-KD where the shoot concept was “woman finds office air con too cold”

Only good poem I ever wrote, this

Toggled on Apple’s “Personalised Volume” and now when my boss talks to me, my music automatically turns up

Thinking, again, of how I said something about the millennium dome to my mentee this week and after describing what and where it is she went, “oh, you mean the O2!”

Can’t walk through a gallery without thinking of AA Gill’s line about all the portraits in the NPG having the same projected expression of focussed attention

I’m enjoying InterRailing, but does occur to me I have booked us less “a holiday” and more “a 12-day premarital team building activity”

Thought this picture was brilliant when I took it on my bike in the lanes this morning. Just got in, got my phone out and… it’s literally just a cloud.

Endorphins, man. They’ll get you every time.

Hype of this place near Gare de l’Est entirely justified. Got there for opening and could smell the pastry from the other end of the street. Think I just saw God in a croissant crust

Yesterday I got to ride in the sun down to Dover, cycle inside a ship, and then draft a special van they send to guide you out of Calais port. All in all, a perfect day on the bike.

Today, it rained so hard every descent felt like a thousand electric shocks to the face 👍

You can see the thought that has gone into 28 Posti from its two kitchen windows.

One frames the faces of wait staff as they pass from back to front of house; the other, the chefs’ hands at work.

Highly recommend if you ever find yourself in Milan. (Get the lettuce.)

Two truly brilliant meals not more than five minutes apart in Milan - the wonderful 28 Posti and, just across the canal, unlimited gnocchi fritti for lunch

Interesting article — and, at times, quite a tough read — on ADHD research, and what new approaches means for treating children in particular

“Adjective-noun businesses don’t tempt you in from the street; they tempt you on Google maps, showing up as an exact match for ‘last-minute dry cleaners’ or ‘cosy bar’ or ‘24/7 groceries.’”

I wrote about what a Roman phallus shares with a gentle dentist

Wonder when my patient, kind, hard-working partner will spot all the great songs I’ve added to our wedding playlist.

Maybe they will even be a surprise on the night

This is a really fun article, asking a panel of chefs and critics to respond to new dining “rules.” (I might start using I AM THE DECIDER) www.ft.com/content/dba8...
