Our local TV station does YouTube live coverage of high school basketball. Every week my mom and I talk shit over text while I’m at the game and she’s watching on YouTube 300 miles away in NJ. She also sends texts like “I see you, sit up straight.”

For someone who has been on these apps for a decade and a half, the cold boot for BlueSky is both invigorating and demoralizing…on one hand it seems like curating an interest based feed is way, but on the other hand: what interests do I want to feed this algorithm?
