I like to read Freya Holmér tweets and pretend that I know what the hell is going on, but really I just enjoy the sense of whimsy and magic behind complex maths I simply cannot hope to understand

Merge Maestro has had a lot of playtime on my phone!

The anime look thing is definitely the first barrier, but I feel like we've stopped talking about how great it was to have a JRPG that wasn't at least 80 hours long for once. Trails is the opposite example of that. (said as someone who played FC and SC and then had kids, so no more Trails here)

It's fun until February, then you just want it to end as soon as possible. Same thing every single year.

My trick is to wait for the discussions to die out. That way I don't understand what people are talking about when they post and when I watch the show it's like it's all new to me.

Lost Odyssey is there, all is well.

When a process has been standardized to the point of being referred to as a best practice, it has become useless for everyone anyway. You need to pick and choose what makes sense for your team at this specific point in time, which will then evolve as time goes on.

There are so many games to play, when a game comes out and is too hard I just skip it and play something else. Why should everyone always need to play the same game?

Left makes everything pop up a lot more, but then again it might be different in action.

Me watching Indiana Jones as a teen and going "Oh that's like when Bart escapes his home at the beginning of that episode!"

It's also the game with the greatest uWu joke of all time.

Mute suspicious sounds, obviously.

The market for coop campaigns is much smaller than before. A lot of people found a "group of 4" during COVID and are looking for games that can be played drop-in/drop-out, which doesn't work with long campaigns.

I sang that song at our office Christmas party and everyone was like

Honestly it's the one thing where we can actually hope that "he" does the right thing. He's the only one who could just decide it needs to be done and then they'll all follow and we'll finally be done with it. Every other president will try to compromise so it'll never happen.

Games have finally become art, which means they have the same problem as the music industry. No barrier to entry means insane levels of competition, so you need to get your foot in while you're young and hopefully generate a long enough tail to keep going.

I love the idea that you've completed it 10 years ago and are just holding on to it to get to stealth drop it at the end of your retirement press release.

Too many people don't read anything you send them, which is why annoying meetings will always be required unfortunately...
