From pioneering rendezvous techniques to guiding a doomed mission home, his contributions were as scientific as they were inspirational. Though he never walked on the moon, his leadership in adversity made him a hero to the nation…and to all who dare to look skyward. Ad Astra, Jim and thank you. 🫡🚀

Me in bed dissociating from everything going on by watching rug cleaning videos with machines called “R2-Clean2”, “Lu-squeegee”, and “Dirt Reynolds”.

Ever just need a break from it all?
I took a break and actually busted out my old canon and telephoto lens, went outside, looked up and admired this beauty tonight.

I haven’t taken a moon photo with this lens in years.
Kinda miss it.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Josephine Baker's success as a Vaudeville dancer took her France, where she was lauded as one of the country's most popular performers. During World War II, Baker became a spy for the French resistance, passing on critical Nazi information to aid the war effort.

Please go outside and look at the moon and Venus. The cosmos (near and far) have a way of washing calmness over me. Hoping it can do the same for you if you’re having a rough time.

In this day in 1742, Edmund Halley dies. He was the first to postulate that comet Halley was periodic and had been seen many times before.

One thing about myself is that I’m forever changing my hair. Change is good. Change is inevitable. Cut my hair and gave myself bangs (again) today in honor of #Yule / Winter Solstice

On my way to work it was raining lightly. I had to stop off and get a coffee and saw the brightest and clearest rainbow I’ve ever seen. The sun was coming up and shining perfectly to refract and disperse the colors so vibrantly through the rain droplets.

Please, won’t someone think of the poor white middle class man?
Celebrating women in STEM has REALLY hurt his poor, fragile wittle feelings ☹️😒

This image is just mind-blowing to me! This is NGC 4254 Spiral Galaxy.

The clearly defined arms (brimming with stars) to its center (where there may be old star clusters and sometimes active supermassive black holes) is astonishing.

2/ Not sure if estimated light years have been measured for the pillars, though. Here is a composite picture (x ray, optical and infrared) of NGC 602 in which you can see the difference in pillars around the star cluster. Hope this helps. :)
