I rarely comment but this is the most disturbing UnAmerican post I have ever seen. My family fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War and WW2. My ancestors did not sacrifice so this behavior could be normalized.

Sending her love. No reason to attack a smart, happy person who is doing her best. We should be uplifting young people, not tearing them down.

Same. My dad died when I was 5 also. Such a lack of understanding that families that lose parents get payments from what the deceased parent paid and it is sorely needed.

I am from Southern Illinois - my family has been there since the 1820’s. I left Illinois in 1980’s after graduation from U of I. To say you are unpopular in my home town and w my family is an understatement. I listened to the Podcast because I keep hearing your name as a real leader. Glad I did.

Woke up and saw my hometown in the on line journal.Many thoughts.Proud of my working class family members and grateful for the education I received in GC. I think the article title underplays the complex dynamics.Too many people I care for rely on the US Steel. Wish the article went deeper.
