Oops! I got my graphics update in right before they locked out submissions for the ratings period!

I wrote up a postmortem for Grapple Snacks, so now I get to apologize for being a guy who posts a screenshot of a text document because I wrote too much for a reasonable thread! 👅🍪

The water from the sink dumps into the reservoir for the toilet for the next flush. I had them one of the first times I went to San Francisco at an "eco hotel"

Let's go through what's come out recently and have a new ✨Underrepresented Steam Games✨. These are Steam games recently released with less than 50 reviews that deserve some attention.

A good day for a new ✨Underrepresented Steam Games✨list! These are Steam games I've found recently with less than 50 reviews that deserve some attention.

So.... followup to say I'm stupid and @steamdb.info DOES have this feature I so desperately wanted. Under tags you can exclude games that have AI disclosures which is amazing for me and anyone. searching for niche titles!

Releases got a bit slow with Next Fest and the Summer Sale but I'm back with a ✨Underrepresented Steam Games✨ list today of games that have less than 50 reviews that deserve attention. Feel free to spread the list and share if you know someone who covers hidden gem games.

Okay but game 5 is clearly a recent shenanigan of some kind in the steam marketplace based on its price history

Let's try something ✨old✨ for this Steam Summer Sale.

For years I've been making lists of ✨Underrepresented Steam Games✨ that didn't get much exposure when they released, and now some of them are on sale! Let's see if we can find some deals in the archives for this thread!

This sits way too closely to the week I've been having trying to put a bend in a capsule

I think both games have really fun ideas. Locator can go really deep on puzzles by limiting the information players get from photos and layering the rules of the world, and both games can expand to larger maps to work within. Map Map can use personal observations to hint at relevant solution spots.
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Aesthetically and theme wise the game is less "mature" than Locator. Map Map is about a group of kids exploring and mapping out spaces finding treasure. It's bright and colorful but the environments currently can feel a bit same'y in assets used.
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
This structure lets Map Map hide clues within their world for the player to find and act on as a player. Visually figuring out the highest vantage point on an island, finding markings that could clue you in to where something else is, etc. A savvy player can do a lot off of just footsteps and coasts
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Map Map is about exploration. It wants you to find landmarks, measure distances based on your own footsteps, and use relative positions of details you know to mark down your goals, giving you more tools as you get through levels.
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Unlike Locator, Map Map has a much less detailed map, giving you the coastlines for the shape of the island, but nothing inside. If there's a tower or a distinct rock formation, you get to mark it off yourself.

There is clear and announced inspiration from Geoguessr where some puzzles are built around ways high skilled Geoguessr players figure out where in the world they are from environmental context clues, and notes that layer on top of each other to make more complex puzzles based on these world's rules
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Early puzzles are purely visual, comparing what's in the photo with what you can see on your map from a bird's eye view, but as things more forward, you need to really study what this missing researcher was writing, what they learned, and apply it to narrow down where photos could have come from.
June 9, 2025 at 10:00 PM
Locator is structured as a narrative Geoguessr in a fictional world, leaning more into it being a puzzle game. You're given photos of places that a missing person has visited, and the person's research notes. You need to find where the photo was taken

Now that I've done last week's Underrepresented Steam Games, and watched what's big in upcoming games from Summer Game Fest, I'll be looking for games in Steam Next Fest starting tomorrow to share, hopefully ones that are a bit more niche and not just the top 20 fitting my tastes
