After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel
Trump’s most brazen attack on free speech yet.

If you look at the Epstein story through the lens of his victims and their life stories you get a story about every powerful institution in public life failing on any measure of accountability but repeatedly being outmatched by the courage of teenagers, sex workers, and runaways

We can all recognize that Hockey Canada has a severe culture problem. We can all agree not to trust them with our children to create new rapists and new victims. We can all commit that not one penny of our household budgets goes to Hockey Canada.

We don’t need the courts for that.

Gaza has completely run out of food and infants are dying of malnutrition. When history is written our “leaders” who sat on their hands will be mentioned as monsters. There is no legacy they leave greater than making the world watch a live streamed genocide, putting the light out in everyone’s eyes.

It should not be controversial to say that the starvation of Gaza’s children is wrong, @julieebeck.bsky.social argues:
It Should Not Be Controversial to Plead for Gaza’s Children
Israel’s limits on aid have put the region at “critical risk of famine.” Help is within reach. But it’s not enough—and it’s arriving too slowly.

Trying to normalize a defence against 30 years of SA precedent that sexual assault is akin to a rape porn fantasy should be shunned by civilized people who want a legal system that does not promote misogynistic and harmful stereotypes that deter Canadian women from reporting sexual violence.
